Once you do this once, if you do a have a clean shutdown it continues to work without removing and re-inserting the module.

Then after about a minute it will drop out. Possibly related to the following in dmesg: [ 163.870916] brcmfmac 0000:02:00.0: Direct firmware load for brcm/brcmfmac43602-pcie.txt failed with error -2 If I rmmod and re-insert brcmfmac it works until the next reboot.
