Title:
  Ubiquity says I'm not connected to the internet, but I am

Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  I downloaded a daily build from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/, put it on
  my USB drive (using MultiSystem, if that makes any difference) and
  booted. It immediately booted to the desktop (the Ubiquity thingy
  where you choose whether you want to try or install doesn't show up
  when I boot from my USB drive). I connected to a wireless network
  using the network indicator, played around a bit to see what had
  changed, and started the installation. It asked me which language I'd
  like to use, I chose Dutch. I proceded and was presented with the
  choice to install updates and codecs. But I couldn't check the box to
  install updates, because Ubiquity told me I wasn't connected to the
  internet, but I was. In the next step it asked me if I wanted to
  connect to a wireless network. When I clicked on the network I was
  actually already connected to, the password box contained the password
  I had already entered to connect to my network the first time.

  The problems with this:
    1. Ubiquity said I wasn't connected, but I was.
    2. The network configuration step comes *after* the step where you can
choose to install updates during the installation, so you can't actually tick
the box.

  Additional information:
    Ubuntu 12.04 AMD64 Daily Build, downloaded a few hours ago.
    Grub menu entry which I used to boot the ISO from my USB drive:
      menuentry "ubuntu-12-04-daily-live-24-02-12.iso" {
      search --set -f "/ubuntu-12-04-daily-live-24-02-12.iso"
      loopback loop "/ubuntu-12-04-daily-live-24-02-12.iso"
      linux (loop)/casper/vmlinuz root=UUID=3348-C209
debian-installer/locale=en_US.UTF-8 debian-installer/language=en
kbd-chooser/method=en console-setup/layoutcode=be console-setup/variantcode=
console-setup/modelcode=pc105
iso-scan/filename=/ubuntu-12-04-daily-live-24-02-12.iso boot=casper
file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed noprompt quiet splash --
      initrd (loop)/casper/initrd.lz
    Unity 2D (I think, I saw that metacity was running, and not compiz. I can't
really visually tell the difference anymore between Unity 2D and Unity 3D.)
