Recently, however, the tiff libraries (libtiff4, libtiffxx0c2 and libtiff4-dev) were updated to version 3.9.2-2ubuntu0.6 (a security update) and this has caused Skype to crash about 9 times out of 10 when I try to open it. Even when it does start up successfully, it will crash when I receive a call, or otherwise crash randomly during usage.
