VLC (media player 2.2.2 Weatherwax (revision 2.2.2-0-g6259d80)) does not display video encoded with mpeg-2, only audio. The videos are not css-encrypted. Other formats like mpeg4, h.264 or h.265 work well with VLC! DVD playback with VLC failed too.
