Title:
  SEGV (Blank/black screen) after using unity8-desktop-session-mir for
  some time

Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released
Status in unity8-desktop-session package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  While experimenting with the click support for the desktop I hit the
  following issue: unity8 vanishes and my screen turns blank/black and
  all I have is a mouse cursor (that I can move around just fine). I did
  not do any VT switches or anything else unusual.

  I see a bunch of:
  [Thu May 22 13:26:34 2014] mpegaudioparse1[8101]: segfault at 7fed9c0ec197 ip
00007fec9a7b8fd7 sp 00007fecab63a698 error 4 in
libgstflump3dec.so[7fec9a7a5000+33000]

  in dmesg but that seems unreleated. Nothing in syslog. I have:
  $ ps afx|grep compositor
   6339 tty9     Ssl+   0:01  \_ /usr/sbin/unity-system-compositor --file
/tmp/lightdm-mir-0 --from-dm-fd 25 --to-dm-fd 34 --vt 9
--enable-hardware-cursor=true

  The ubuntu-compositor-log says:
  """
  $ sudo cat /var/log/lightdm/unity-system-compositor.log
  GL_VENDOR = X.Org
  GL_RENDERER = Gallium 0.4 on AMD REDWOOD
  GL_VERSION = OpenGL ES 3.0 Mesa 10.1.3
  dm_connection_start
  Unable to set active session, unknown client name
  """

  If there is more information I can provide or anything else to help
  please let me know.

  Thanks,
   Michael
