You have been subscribed to a public bug: This happens in 16.04 LTS dailyimage (2016-02-08). /etc/modules is copied from 14.04 LTS (and works there). My /etc/modules:
# /etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time. # # This file contains the names of kernel modules that should be loaded # at boot time, one per line. Lines beginning with "#" are ignored. loop lp rtc bonding 8021q ip_gre nf_conntrack hashsize=262144 nf_conntrack_ftp ports=21 nf_conntrack_pptp nf_conntrack_netbios_ns nf_nat_ftp nf_nat_pptp act_mirred sch_fq_codel ifb numifbs=4 It looks like ifb numifbs=4 is ignored, when I remove numifbs=4 then all is OK, module is loaded with default 2 devices. When I type modprobe ifb numifbs=4 from console all is OK, module is loaded. ** Affects: kmod (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bot-comment -- /etc/modprobe ignores ifb numifbs=xx https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1543183 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to kmod in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages Post to : touch-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~touch-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
