I'm not sure why, but python2 still has a presence inthe cloud image.
Perhaps something Recommends it ?
python other than 'libpython2.7' can be purged with no dependency pain. vim
pulls libpython in (https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=729924)
