This appears to be due to LightDM trying to connect to these X servers
as 127.0.0.1:<displaynumber>. I think this means it's trying to use
TCP/IP and failing. Since X.Org changed to TCP/IP disabled by default
this stopped working. Solution is to just connect to :<displaynumber>.

I was hoping to get a nested X server with lightdm, but the Xephyr
windows briefly opens and then closes again. I have tried this on two
different installations of Wily with the same results. If I try to
start Xephyr manually and then start lightdm on it with 'dm-tool add-
local-x-seat' then dm-tool fails with exactly the same error message
as above.
