We definitely have all the packages installed that are needed for tiff.
The thumbnailer converts to tiff in internally, using gdk pixbuf, and it
deals with tiff images just fine.

Title:
  No support for tiff images

Status in Canonical System Image:
  Incomplete
Status in gallery-app package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
A friend on a mac sent me a tiff image (of their desktop) in the
Telegram app. Apparently with a common screen grab utility. It could
not be rendered because Ubuntu Touch doesn't ship with support for the
  tiff image format.

That couldn't be super difficult to add to the image, and would be
nice. It's not a super common format, but it isn't unheard of in
  everyday situations (like the above).
