This is an expected regression. The selection rectangle is not coming back in its current form. Instead, a proper touch selection mechanism is being implemented in oxide (see bug #1376268) which the browser will leverage.
Note that the selection rectangle was broken beyond repair, the functionality actually worked in very few corner cases, which is why the decision was made to drop it (as it was blocking the implementation of new context menus). ** Changed in: webbrowser-app (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to webbrowser-app in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1504501 Title: Copying text from in a web page is not happening Status in Canonical System Image: Won't Fix Status in webbrowser-app package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: STEPS: 1. install the latest image from rc-proposed 2.
