It may be related but this one and bug 1418071 show the cursor goes
missing even without using nesting.

Although a nested server is a client and will probably suffer from the
same bug, I don't think the problem is specific to nesting.

Bug description:
  No cursor shown when booted to unity8 Mir on Samsung NP-300V5Z no cursor 
shown neither from touch pad nor usb wireless mouse. It's really hard to 
navigate when no cursor is shown, but it works apparently.
  All packages updated as of today (Apr-15)
