Sheryl Zettner, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you please which update precisely caused this issue?
** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1472390 Title: July 7th earning morning update threw display completely off Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I ran the July 7 update at about 1AM CST last night, and it totally threw my monitor out of calibration. The alignment was shifted to the left so far that the left panel became invisible. The fonts were made larger. I had to mess with the monitors setting to even get my left panel back to check for further updates today, but my entire left panel is bunching up on itself on the top, so that the top application icons in are all on top of each other. I hope I am reporting this the proper way, but your system for reporting bugs is very confusing. I am surprised I even got this far, as it is not very intuitive how to do bug reports these days. :( BTW, this is the second time I have had an update screw up my computer in the last month. I'm starting to lose faith in the security of these security updates, as only a hacker would probably know how to get through all the submission hurdles to make these kind of changes. Also, it might help to know that I am using gnome metacity, so this may be limited to those of us using that. The default was slow as molasses on my old computer and the application choice on the their generic panel were not very intuitive, so I had to switch back to gnome. So I am not going to update my other computer till this is resolved. It was clearly an update issue, as it was working fine till I ran the update and restarted my computer. My apologies if this is a duplicate report, but I did not see it on the list of recent bug reports. I'm just doing the best I can keeping my system bug free. Cheers. The attached pic is what my screen looks like AFTER fiddling with the monitor settings to get the panel far enough to the right that I could see and use it, but after the update it was all very much to the left and much larger.
