Title:
Swipe across whole keyboard to dismiss

Status in Ubuntu Keyboard:
  In Progress
Status in “ubuntu-keyboard” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
To make the keyboard easier to dismiss we should allow the user to
swipe across the whole keyboard, without immediately dragging the
keyboard down to avoid interfering with key entry, then if a large
enough swipe has been made hide the keyboard.
