And spoke too soon, I guess. Tried printing and it would never finish processing and get to the printer. CUPS job state says:
processing since Thu 14 Aug 2014 08:52:20 PM CDT "Rendering completed" ...but doesn't go any further after several minutes. lpinfo -v does display: direct gutenprint52+usb://Canon/SELPHY+CP400?serial=NONE_UNKNOWN&backend=canonselphy This was the printer I had left set up after performing your Step 2 of renaming without the + sign. So, I tried deleting that printer, reversing the renaming to again include the plus sign and readding it through cups. Same result, no print after 15 minutes. So, just for kicks, I restarted the computer and tried printing again. This time all the job state says is: pending since Thu 14 Aug 2014 09:20:57 PM CDT ...and still never prints. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to cups in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1342497 Title: Adding CP400 printer gives "client-error-not-possible" error Status in “cups” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS cups: Installed: 1.7.2-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 1.7.2-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1.7.2-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status system-config-printer-gnome: /usr/share/system-config-printer/system- config-printer.py Appears to find the drivers and gets to the New Printer page.
