I don't think this bug happens randomly. I can reproduce the bug predictably.
To reproduce the bug: 1. Open Spotify from the Unity launcher. 2. Exit Spotify. 3. Open Spotify again. To avoid the bug: 1. Open Spotify from the Unity launcher. 2. Click Hide Spotify in the system tray icon (this may require a few tries until it says Open Spotify). 3. Exit Spotify. 4. Open Spotify again. The key is to click Hide Spotify first in the system tray icon. Can anyone confirm? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1172649 Title: Spotify icon is displayed twice in Unity Launcher Status in Unity: Confirmed Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I'm using Ubuntu 13.04 and latest Spotify version.
