regardless of other hubris, there is demonstrable benefit for security
through isolation; both as front-tier container technique and
fail-safe backstop to other forefront application level failures.

I guess it comes down to a fundamental computer science question of
whether or not the TCB of computing machines can be engineered to be
truly secure, or not, against remote host compromise?
I realize that nothing in production today meets this high standard.
