You can simply visit https://youtube.com/html5 to get a cookie that will tell YT to

the HTML5 version like so.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bL9hsz5znaU&html5=True

This may or may not work in TorBrowser depending on your platform and Plug-Ins
you have activated since Mozilla is allergic to playing MPEG4/H.264 video even
if handing off playback to the OS would perfectly be possible. (But that is a
totally different kind of discussion.)

I can play the video www.youtube.com/watch?v=bL9hsz5znaU&html5=True
but most (many) others don't respond in TBB. No message or anything. Obviously, some html5 will play, so not sure if many don't play because those specific ones aren't offered in html5 - for what ever reason?

Is this method working for many (using TBB 3.5.x)? If so, approximately what % of videos on youtube or others will play in html5, when they'd normally be offered in flash?

Does this method work on other sites?

** As far as anyone knows, is there any TBB privacy / anonymity issue from copying a flash video URL & entering in a local player (VLC, SMPlayer, etc.)?
From Youtube or anywhere else?
