I think it would be a great reason to start presenting about Tor at LUGs, BUGs, and business development working groups, along with discussion of risk factors appropriate to the field that Tor helps mitigate. Counter paranoia with discussion of basic OPSEC and changing perception. > It seems to me that anyone wishing to use Tor to protect > themselves, especially at cafes, would start being unnecessarily > harassed. It might. It's a little worrisome. I think some of it depends on whether or not one's screen is something a lot of people look at (though due to some other 'warning signs' like paying in cash for a cup of coffee this might become more of an issue). It also would depend somewhat on whether or not anyone was monitoring the wireless net of a coffee shop, restaurant, etc. and how closely they were watching. - -- The Doctor [412/724/301/703] PGP: 0x807B17C1 / 7960 1CDC 85C9 0B63 8D9F DD89 3BD8 FF2B 807B 17C1 WWW: https://drwho.virtadpt.net/ If patience is bitter, the result is sweet. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk85cgcACgkQO9j/K4B7F8EWxgCfWJrnmtAdrQin3VHKl8dKsAlx 7EwAn35Cpg4EiyBWBrBF5KuInXRgXpvI =uUFR -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ tor-talk mailing list tor-talk@lists.torproject.org https://lists.torproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tor-talk
