For various reasons it sounds like there is a lot of demand for separating Tor from the TBB. It would be nice if we could fund the development of features like this. I imagine some of us would be more willing to donate if certain features would be added as a result. I donate a fair amount of spare bandwidth from a high speed co-located server although have never contributed financially. I think Tor is a worthy cause though. I do contribute to many other projects.
I also think there is potential for a relationship between the Tor project and commercial entities. Mozilla is a good example. Something similar could be arranged for Tor. It may be the advertisement of a Tor-friendly product or even semi-generic hardware or tie in to a search engine. A few projects already exist that could be commercialized in some way where a percentage of the profits could go toward Tor development. It is probably unwise to derive too much funding from a single entity although taking advantage of the user base to produce a self-sustaining non-profit entity is probably a wise move. > > On Fri, Dec 23, 2011 at 9:49 PM, <h...@safe-mail.net> wrote: >> Is it possible to adjust the Tor Browser for use without Tor? > > I am looking for such a solution too.
