Until someone from the EFF responds, here are my thoughts based on past conversations with them. The EFF feels they are in a better position to defend exit relay operators than put themselves in the same position. They have done a lot to support tor through fiscal sponsorship in 2005, creating our logo and initial graphics, defending relay operators, FOIA requests related to tor and staff, legal support for tor staff and contractors, their surveillance self-defense site (https://ssd.eff.org/), and now their tor challenge. Running one exit node does help. However, defending others running them while creating hundreds more is a far better use of their resources. -- Andrew pgp 0x74ED336B _______________________________________________ tor-talk mailing list tor-talk@lists.torproject.org https://lists.torproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tor-talk
