Ramalinga Adigalar attacked Vedic rituals by rejecting the Vedas, Agamas, and Puranas in favor of a universal, non-ritualistic path centered on compassion and worship of the Divine Light. He viewed Vedic rituals as dogmatic, outdated practices that created division and obscured the true nature of God. His "attack" was not a direct or violent one but an ideological and practical refutation through his teachings and the establishment of his own spiritual movement. In my humble opinion, all the tamil literatures including the Tirukkural, followed only the Sanskrit Vedas and nothing outside. Even Vedas do say that all are equal and there is no caste at all. All the tevarams , thiruvasagam, thirukkural, thirumanthiram ,sanga veersas project only one brahmam and I do not find Nalayira divya prabandham different from Vedas even if vaishnavites interpret Nammazhwar as the real Veda by mere attachment as we call our children by names. Ramalinga adigalar spoke high of real brahmins, Gods and Veda meanings in his 5818 verses. But why do dravidam twists and Andal jalras ; why sudha seshayyan attributed extra-interpolations?
