However, it's a temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha(Ganapathy) located in Kerala, known for its spiritual ambiance and traditionalworship practices. This temple is one of the rare Maha Ganapathy Temples inKerala. This temple is historically famous in Kerala as well. The main subsidiary deity here is Vettakkorumakan (Shiva). The temple also has murtis of Navagrahas, Nagas, Dampathirakashas, Durga andBhadrakali. Architecture The temple likely follows the typical Kerala style of templearchitecture and conducts daily prayers (poojas) and special rituals duringauspicious occasions. The temple is located in the northern part of Kunnamkulamcity, in the middle of the Kakkad land. The temple faces east. An Arayal (Banyantree) can be seen right in front of the temple. According to Hindu beliefsArayal, which is considered a sacred tree, is considered to be themanifestation of the Trimurti - that is, Brahma resides on top of Arayal,Vishnu in the middle, and Shiva at the bottom. It is considered good for thebody and mind to circumambulate Arayalseven times in the morning. At the foot of the same arayal, a statue of theBhagavadvahana, Mooshikan , can also be seen. A beautiful two-storey gopuram has been built in the easternada. It was built in 2003. Its entire outer door is engraved with variousGanesha forms. A small wedding hall has also been built between the arayal andthe gopuram. This is probably the only temple in Kerala where a wedding takesplace in front of Ganesha.
