In the Valmiki Ramayana (1.22.13) Bala and Atibala are described as
Mantra-Grama. In the Tilaka commentary on Ramayana it is explained as
Mantra-Samuha or the group of Mantras. Therefore, there is no connection of
Bala and Atibala with the names of plants.

Now what are these Mantras? The mantras are given in Savitri Upanisad (
Mantra 13-14) as follows

balātibalayorvirāṭ puruṣa ṛṣiḥ । gāyatrī chandaḥ ।
gāyatrī devatā । akārokāramakārā bījādyāḥ ।
