*War: The Eternal Reality of Life and Nations* War is not merely an unfortunate event—it is an eternal reality of human existence. Just as individuals must guard their property, nations too must defend their sovereignty relentlessly. History teaches us that every nation has enemies, and India is no exception. India lives under a constant threat from its neighbors. Dangerous ideologies like Ghazwa-e-Hind are still promoted by certain groups, sometimes with international support, and disturbingly, find sympathizers even within India’s borders. These threats are not merely theoretical—they are strategic missions for some, aimed at destabilizing our nation. Chanakya, in the Arthashastra, warned of the ever-present nature of conflict. Looking back over 2,500 years, we see repeated invasions of India—often when our defense was neglected. A relevant example is ancient Egypt. Despite being culturally and technologically advanced, Egypt fell due to weakened military preparedness. Foreign invaders destroyed their civilization, looted their resources, enslaved their people, and erased their identity. Today, Egyptians exhibit their ancestors' mummies in museums, charging tickets to tourists—a painful symbol of lost pride. India, too, faced centuries of foreign rule—losing not just material wealth but self-respect. A powerful military is not optional; it is a prerequisite for national dignity and survival. We must not merely avoid war—we must occasionally engage in limited battles to keep our army, leadership, and society battle-ready. Prolonged peace can dull a nation’s readiness and willpower. Every war is expensive, both in lives and money—but unpreparedness is costlier. I am in Armenia currently which reminds me of this lesson. Armenia was once a prosperous and historically rich country. But due to weak defense, it was repeatedly invaded—by Iranians, Turks, and later the Soviets. The Armenian Genocide under Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid and later during World War I resulted in the death of approximately 1.5 million Armenians—a catastrophic blow to the community. During World War II, around 500,000 Armenians fought for the Soviet Union—about one-third of their male population at that time. Nearly 175,000 Armenian soldiers died in that war. In the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Armenia, once again militarily unprepared, lost significant territory to Azerbaijan, backed by Turkey. The loss still haunts their national psyche. The lesson is stark: defense is not a one-time investment but a continuous process. *A nation must evolve its military, maintain strategic superiority, and foster a culture of sacrifice and readiness.* India must prioritize not just military expansion but real-time preparedness— *even at the cost of engaging in controlled, limited warfare.* *Survival with honor demands vigilance, strength, and the will to fight when necessary. A strong, battle-hardened army is essential—not only to win wars but to prevent them.* Yahoo Mail: Search, Organize, Conquer <https://mail.onelink.me/107872968?pid=nativeplacement&c=US_Acquisition_YMktg_315_SearchOrgConquer_EmailSignature&af_sub1=Acquisition&af_sub2=US_YMktg&af_sub3=&af_sub4=100002039&af_sub5=C01_Email_Static_&af_ios_store_cpp=0c38e4b0-a27e-40f9-a211-f4e2de32ab91&af_android_url=https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yahoo.mobile.client.android.mail&listing=search_organize_conquer> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Thatha_Patty" group.
