One lump of flesh had no face left, another lump had just a bit of forearm left. Some heads were still on their shoulders but all blood had oozed from the necks. Other heads were severed like they never were ever attached to the bodies. I have a knot in my stomach that does not let me breathe. Either I am getting old or I have lost appetite for protracted war. In my lowest moments I want to tell them: You want Kashmir, here take it. Will you leave us alone after this? Then I shake myself and think. It is not Kashmir they are after. It is our civilization, our way of life, our traditions and centuries of resistance they want to destroy.They won’t stop at Kashmir but they must be stopped in Kashmir. If Kashmir is the earliest and longest theater of Islamist jihad then the war must be won there. At all costs.
