Its dimensions should not exceed 115 cm (length + width + height). At the same time, passengers of first class and business class can carry bags weighing up to 10 kg. Apart from cabin baggage, every passenger can also carry a laptop bag or a lady’s purse. Provided it can fit under the seat and its weight does not exceed 3 kg. *Air India’s luggage rules* - Economy class passengers are allowed to carry a hand bag weighing up to 7 kg. - For business or first class passengers, this limit is fixed at 10 kg. - The size of the baggage should be up to 40 CM (length), 20 CM (width) and 55 CM (height). - All other bags other than one hand bag must be checked-in. *Air India Hand Bag Guidelines* - As per Indian security rules, each passenger can carry only one hand baggage. - If the weight or size of the baggage exceeds the prescribed limit, an additional charge will be levied. - The old rules will apply for tickets issued before May 2, 2024. - An additional seat can be booked for special baggage (such as musical instruments). - However, it must not weigh more than 75 kg and must be securely tied to the seat. *IndiGo’s handbag rules* Each passenger is allowed to carry one handbag weighing a maximum of 7 kg and 115 cm (length + width + height). Passengers can carry a ladies purse or laptop bag. But, its weight should not exceed 3 kg. This means that a female passenger cannot carry a laptop bag along with a ladies purse. If a passenger carries luggage heavier than the prescribed weight, he/she may be charged extra.
