Q1      How can youfind the smartest person in a room?

A1      Swara, Livesin Mumbai, Maharashtra, India (2002–present)6mo

When my dad was in the 7th grade, he experienced amemorable incident. During
one of his lectures, his teacher posed a seeminglyrandom question: "How can we
determine the freshness of puffed ricewithout actually consuming it?"

Surprisingly, the student who was often consideredthe least academically
inclined in the class came to the rescue. With an air ofsimplicity, he boldly
offered his answer: "To check the freshness ofpuffed rice, you can hold it
between two fingers and crush it. If it's soft,it's not fresh."

A profound hush fell over the classroom as thisunconventional response
registered with the students. They were astonished thatthe student, who was
notknown for excelling in academics, had provided the solution to a question
thathad baffled them all.

This incident served as a poignant reminder that intelligence comes in
manyforms, and sometimes, unconventional thinkers can offer the most
insightfulperspectives, even in the world of academics. Finding the
smartestperson in a room is like searching for the freshness of puffed rice
without ataste test.

Q2      Are Lingayats Brahmins or not?

A2      HariNarasimhan, Lives in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India Feb 25

No, they are not

Brahmin is a Varna. All Brahmins have a Vedic rootirrespective of where they
come from. Vedas are the philosophical texts thatgovern Brahmins. One may argue
that anybody can study Vedas, its true thatanyone can study Vedas but Vedas are
integral to a Brahmin. One cannot separatea Brahmin from Vedic roots. Alsoall
Brahmins have descended from a set of Rishis, and this lineage is known asa
Gotra. Thus Brahminism can be considered a religion akin toZorastrianism or
Judaism since there is a governing philosophy. Just like onecannot convert to
Judaism and Zorastrianism, one cannot convert to Brahminism. One has to be born
into it to becomea Brahmin

Lingayatism is areligious order founded by the 12th century philosopher and
social reformerBasavanna. Hefought against the established order in the 12th
century and wanted to createan egalitarian society. A religious order means
that one can undergo a ritualand convert to it. Peoplefrom many castes,
including Brahmins underwent the ritual and became Lingayats.Technically even a
Koryak from Kamchatka peninsula can undergo the ritual andbecome a Lingayat.
Their governing philosophy is “Basava tatva”

Edit : As my friend Goutham pointed out there areBrahmins who have converted
and become Lingayats. In fact Basavanna himself was born in a Brahmin family

Q3      What should your blood sugar levels be inthe morning?

A3      Dr.Benjamin McLean, Doctor of Medicine at Mater Private Hospital,
Brisbane(2015–present) Nov 13

As a Doctor of Medicine, I can provide information onrecommended blood sugar
levels in the morning. Fasting blood sugar levels, which are measured after an
overnight fast, are an important indicator ofoverall blood glucose control. The
normal range for fasting blood sugar levelscan vary slightly among different
organizations, but generally, it isconsidered to be between 70 and 100
milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) or 3.9 to5.6 millimoles per liter (mmol/L).

Here is a breakdown of fasting blood sugar levels:

1. Normal Range:Fasting blood sugar levels between 70 to 100 mg/dL (3.9 to 5.6
mmol/L) are generally considerednormal. This indicates that your body is
effectively managing glucose levelsduring the fasting period.

2. Prediabetes:Fasting blood sugar levels between 100 to 125 mg/dL (5.6 to 6.9
mmol/L) may suggestprediabetes. Individuals in this range are at an increased
risk of developingtype 2 diabetes and should consider lifestyle modifications,
including diet andexercise, to prevent progression.

3. Diabetes: Fasting blood sugar levels of 126 mg/dL (7.0mmol/L) or higher on
two separate tests indicate diabetes. If you consistently havefasting blood
sugar levels in this range, it is crucial to consult with ahealthcare
professional for a comprehensive evaluation and management plan.

It's important to note that these values serve asgeneral guidelines and
individual variations may exist. Additionally, factors such as age, overall
health, and medical history can influence the interpretation of bloodsugar
levels. Regular monitoring of blood sugar levels, especially inthe morning, is
essential for individuals with diabetes or those at risk ofdeveloping the
condition.

If you have concerns about your blood sugar levels or ifyou receive abnormal
results, it is crucial to consult with a healthcareprovider. Theycan conduct
further assessments, provide personalized advice, and determine anappropriate
course of action to maintain optimal blood glucose control. Regularmedical
check-ups, lifestyle modifications, and adherence to prescribedmedications, if
necessary, play key roles in managing blood sugar levelseffectively.

them blindly!

Your friends are not as loyal as you think.

Hiding emotions is not a great virtue, it’s just anact of a weak person who
tries to pretend to strong.

Hating people for your belief is just a waste of timeand energy.

The organization you work in isn’t your family.

Saying sorry can make your life easier than youthink!

Q7      What are examples of things that richpeople have done just because they
can?

23 Wall Street

When JP Morgan bought the land at 23 Wall Street in New York around1912 for a
new headquarters building for his banking business, it was the most expensive
realestate transaction in the history of the United States up to that time.

The technology already existed to build tallbuildings. Not quite "skyscrapers"
by our modern standards, but therewere already buildings in New York with more
than ten stories. Indeed, therewas one such building standing just across the
street.

JP Morgan decidedto build his building only four stories high, just to show off
that he could afford to buy themost expensive piece of land in the country, and
then put a building only fourstories high on it.

He also didn't put his name on it, nor the eponymousname of his company,
because he figured everyone would know what the buildingwas.

JP Morgan &Co. owned the building until 2003, using it as a conference center
after moving theirheadquarters to a larger building in the 1980's. They never
did put their nameon it.
