Hi everyone,

First of all, please excuse my English mistakes if there's any, it is not my primary language.

I've noticed that my Empathy setup displays every font as a highly anti-aliased Times. I thought at first that this was somehow related to this bug : https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=642313 (you can find here a comment from me, with a screenshot showing the problem) but it seems that my situation is a bit more complicated, and I can't tell if it is really a bug in Empathy or just my font configuration that is messed up. So, please let me explain it more precisely.

I'm using Arch Linux x86-64, with Gnome 3.2.1 and Empathy 3.2.1.2 from the official repos. I'm also using freetype2-git-infinality from AUR (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=49730) to have a pretty anti-aliasing filter over my fonts, as suggested by the Arch wiki : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Font_Configuration#Infinality. I was using the local.conf file provided in the wiki (with the "Apple" rendering style set up), which works perfectly well, but after I noticed my issue with Empathy, I tried to switch every default serif and sans-serif fonts to Cantarell. Even after I rebooted, I still have this barely readable (especially within groupchats) Times font. Here's my local.conf : http://pastebin.archlinux.fr/434629

I don't know if this is an issue with Empathy (maybe a problem with the fallback font ?), Webkit or Infinality. I would like to know how your Empathy setup behaves with Adium themes and if this deserves a real bug report.

Cheers !
