That is your loss. Not that you need to see the point for *my* benefit,
'cause these patches are running like a charm here :)

Right! If you needed an excuse to dismiss my patches, you could've
just invoked tmux(1), y'know. No need for the horrible wart that is X.

Needless to say, wscons switching is amazingly fast and smooth even
compared to tmux. Now only if we can find a simple way to apply the
graphics mode on a per-screen basis an we don't need X anymore (though
obviously, X could use that too! and it would probably get rid of the
feared detach timeout condition, where X has given up the ghost and it
cannot even be switched away from).

Irrespective of all that, though, did you have a look at patches 3 and
5? 3 is a factual manual patch and 5 is a general simplification of a
bit of code.
