Expand on a wrong idea does not make it right.  Your advice is hurting
naive readers.  This thread is the result of a user error gone public.

Obvious design error: you did not include uninterrupted power supply.
File system check is fast and safe even when power fails.  Still you
have a system reliability omission.  Consider a power unit next time.
