With your diff firefox consumes twice less cpu (watched the same video with and without the diff). This suggests firefox spins somewhere and your diff makes it spin less. When audio device is using small blocks it stutters more with your diff though; according to device counters the stuttering is caused by sndiod not getting the cpu fast enough.
