Can't we just use ANSI colour sequences? We can use TheDraw in dosbox to create pages, it's a fine editor, and we can then provide helpful animated diagrams to illustrate complex concepts, for example in areas connected with uvm(9) and vnode(9). Perhaps beck could suggest some appropriate graphics for these areas.
