Thanks. I guess the real question I wanted clarified that the addition of the 
-f was sufficient to make the script as a whole to complete or whether it just 
got past that statement and then tripped on the 'touch', or other subsequent 
command.

starting network
override rw-r--r--  root/wheel for /etc/resolv.conf?
