I've checked in some of those changes. I replaced the <sys/file.h>
include in pcap-bpf.c with an include of <fcntl.h>, as that's what
you're supposed to include for open(). The ones that didn't involve
extra includes or configure script changes weren't checked in; were
they necessary?
To close the loop on this...
The current libpcap, checked out with git, builds cleanly and correctly
for BPF enabled Solaris.
