Maurice, I thank you so much for your words of encouragement, I appreciate
your promise to help and will certainly contact you after trying once again
to see what I can accomplish with that phone.
Yesterday, after reading Eleanor's message, I try to place a call using the
key board, I succeeded but couldn't find my way to hang up. (lol!) and my
talk trial is almost over.
But thanks and I will spend some time today with it.

Nicky.
Let me add to what Eleanor is saying.
Firstly, bear in mind that "Nothing" is hopeless in this life. Most
things can be sorted.
I had an E7 and as I couldn't get on with it for personal reasons I sold
it
on either Recycle-it or Secondhandzone sites. These are free to join
and
there is a lot of buying and selling that takes place.
Now don't despair with the E7. What I would suggest is try using it
slowly
and patiently and try to make friends with it.
After all, it is a very good phone.
However, if you really can't get on with it then try to sell or part
exchange it for say something like an E6 and yes, as Eleanor says, Anna
is
probably better.
If you do decide to sell this and need any help, then email me off site
and
I'll do all I can to assist.
But, don't despair, be patient and it will all get sorted.
Maurice.

Thanks again... so it's hopeless?
I don't know what I am going to do; They will not give me my money back
and
I have never tried selling on EBay.
But @list I know not to continue getting myself frustrated trying to use
the
unusable and wondering what's wrong with me.

Personally I do not think the E6 and E7 are ideal for people without any
useful vision but that is only my opinion. There used to be a gentleman
on this list and he had a Nokia N8 which was totally touch screen and he
maintained he could use it without difficulty. You can read the notes in
the Talks manual regarding touch screens but if you seriously want a
touch
screen phone I can think of others that do not use Talks that would do
the
job for you. Maybe you need to be looking at where you purchased it from
and the possibility of it not meeting your expressed needs and asking for
a refund or of selling it on without Talks on EBay or something like
that.
Eleanor

Thanks Eleanor for answering. I am totally blind, even
placing
a call is a hindrance. I was tolled that, running your finger on the
scream,
talk would indicate where you are and den you could double touch to
select
what you want; well, that is not happening. it's very sensitive and
throes
me astray all the time.
I really don't know what to doo.

Well I would not dispair. There is a qwerty keyboard there also. I
think
the Anna operating system is more user friendly for Talks users than
the
Belle one. I have some vision so can set up good contrast. However, I
would use the flip out keyboard for writing. You do not have to have
all
these screens with short-cut widgets etc. You could just have one for
example with 4 items on it like contacts, file manager, notes and
camera.
There is always the Menu where you can choose your app by going down
through the list.
