Thanks for the technique! I was able to remove the door and install one of my new batteries. It's charging, and I'm hoping for the best. Buying batteries for an N82 is a chancy business.

Can be a bit stiff, but using the index finger on your right hand, press and hold the button down, and at the same time, using the thumb and middle finger on your left hand, grip the top edges of the cover, on the outside edges of the phone, just under the camera lenses, and push down. This works for me, hope it does for you -

I've had my N82 so long without changing the original battery that I've forgotten how to remove the battery door. Holding down the button at the bottom of the door doesn't seem to release it. There must be a trick to it. Help!
