In that case if using a touch screen! Press the Talks key and then find the
square that says read Input status. Then you will get the information.

That is good Stephen. The characters are counted down from 140 and the
number of messages is announced after the number of characters. However I
can never get it to work when soft key 2 is on a touch screen.

Try doing a Talks followed by a long press of SoftKey2.

I am using E 63. While typing a SMS how we can know how many characters
we have typed. If a few characters exceed the limit of 160 characters,
then our SMS is calculated as two sms. Pls guide me.
