Hi there, Although I no longer use a Nokia as my primary phone I do use one as a dedicated GPS system. If Maps worked on your phone before and doesn't now, I'd suggest in the first instance you try resetting to factory defaults. Without having a phone in front of me I'd have a guess and say you should find an option under Menu > Tools > Settings > Factory restore or similar.
Also check to see if there are any updates for your phone via Nokia Software Updater or over the air. Dial *#0000# and then from the Options menu choose to check for updates. I don't have a guide dog but do use my Nokia GPS system to navigate whilst using a long cane. All the best for now and take care. _______________________________________ Have a pleasant day, Kind Regards and Best Wishes, Hussein Patwa Tel: 0789 47 595 62 (UK) Tel: +44 (0)122 4433 954 (SIP) Twitter: www.twitter.com/hussein_patwa Skype: patwaspotterfan2 Web: www.patwanet.co.uk Blog: http://patwaspotterfan.livejournal.com Find me on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=510013486 Please note: Calls from witheld numbers may not be connected. GPS on Nokia E52 I don't know if you can answer this or if this list is the place. If not, one of you should just let me that this is an inappropriate question for the list. I was using my phone's GPS, but ever since a month or so ago, I would try to open it either from Maps or via Landmarks and it opens for a short while (too short to use) and then bounces me back out. Sometimes it will say something like "Unable to detect application." or maybe "No suitable application is installed". This is strange, because I never uninstalled the GPS from my phone. What happened and what should I do about it? Have any of you used your phone's GPS while with a guide dog?
