So perhaps "net.predictable-names", or "net.predictable-interface-names"?

Do you think it still makes sense to have an "rc." version? I was
thinking this might be useful in case the admin wants to customize the
logic, but can't edit the udev rules in the initrd. Obviously, if the
kernel takes this over that will all be different anyway...
