Hi all, Given that the 4.3 is coming all new idea come to my mind :)
Average depth is very important for who use ratio deco or other mnemonic system to calucate deco on the fly underwater. This is specially true for tech dives. GUE was the first agency to teach average depth use in overhead dives. Nowadays a lot of instruments have this feature. Even the simple uwatec bottom timer has this feature. It was suggested by members of WKPP to Scubapro. Unfortunately it cannot be reset as in a lot of other more professional and expensive instruments. Even with a instrument which calculates average depth, it must always be taken with a pinch of salt. Anyway... Instead of having a flat average depth line on the dive profile, why we do not plot a line which reflects the real average depth in every sample? The end values will be the same that we plot now. We could even have the current average depth displayed on the overlay information window in the profile or just having this value and nothing drawn. In this way, a tech diver who use the ratio deco could see if his mnemonic calculations were correct or not. We could find the way to reset the average depth so it is calculated only on a part (leg) of the profile. This could be a 4.4 or 4.3.1 feature :) -- Davide https://vimeo.com/bocio/videos _______________________________________________ subsurface mailing list [email protected] http://lists.subsurface-divelog.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/subsurface
