Start SquirrelMail configuration utility (conf.pl), select 10. Languages
menu option and change default charset from iso-8859-1 to utf-8 or
windows-1256. These character sets should allow use of Arabic characters
in US English translation.

If you select utf-8, make sure that php has mbstring support.

If you select windows-1256, remember that SquirrelMail does not support
this character set in IMAP folder names. If you use Arabic characters in
folder names, they will be displayed correctly only in SquirrelMail.
