SquirrelMail 1.4.x has known issues with big imap folders, when server side sorting is not used. Sorting functions are not optimized.
If you can't use IMAP server with SORT extension, I can recommend only SquirrelMail 1.5.1cvs. If you want to use fixed version and not code snapshot - wait for two weeks and use 1.5.1 version. > Yes, I have subsrcribed all listed folders.
