All you need to do is to make sure your web server is serving up ssl pages on port 443. This is done in your apache config files, and make sure you generate a ssl cert and ssl key. This can be a self signed cert if you wish to save some money. You should be fine with your current imap and sendmail. You do not need imaps since you will be authenticating via ssl.
