[SM-USERS] problem in login

Recently i downloaded Squirrelmail package-1.4.4 from the net to my system. The details of my system are:
OS-Red Hat linux 9.0
Web Server-Apache 2.0.47
PHP-4.3.3

I want to test squirrelmail on my stand alone machine.
I unzipped the .tar.gz file into the document root of my web server(apache2/htdocs/).While executing the .configure command i specified the smtp server as localhost.
After installation i accessed the configtest.php file from my webserver without any difficulty.From here I was directed to the login form but i wasn't able to login. Also none of the remaining php files could be accessed without logging in. Since mine is a stand alone machine, what is the user id and password i should use to login successfully.
