I have seen this problem from time to time. I *think* it occurs when two
SquirrelMail accounts are logged-in concurrently from the same PC.

So, if I am already accessing one mailbox using SM on my PC, and then use
another browser window to login to another account using SM, I think it
can cause conflicts and maybe confuse or wipe out some prefs.

If this is the case, then at a shared PC it could be a more common problem
if the first user doesn't logout of SM before the second users opens a new
SM session.

Another poster verified my theory in a post about a month ago.
