Actually this is the exact problem that my plugin http://squirrelmail.org/plugin_view.php?id=149
is ment to take care of. I assume you have multiple domains. With my plugin if someone logs in from a URL of mail.example.com then they automatically send mail from [EMAIL PROTECTED] If they go to the web page mail.sample.com to login then their mail comes from [EMAIL PROTECTED] It takes some apache and bind setup to make this work, but it doesn't take any more ip addresses than you are probably already using. It just requires the use of the named virtual hosts in apache. It works quite neatly. You could use the Virtual Host Login plugin so the username always gets expanded to include the domain. But I can't tell if you actually need this. 2. There are two plugins that can help you make sure the user's outgoing name and address are always set up: http://squirrelmail.org/plugin_view.php?id=11 http://squirrelmail.org/plugin_view.php?id=142 -------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------- Ray Todd Stevens Specialists in Network and Security Consulting Senior Consultant Software audit service available Stevens Services Suite 21 3754 Old State Rd 37 N Bedford, IN 47421 (812) 279-9394 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thought for the day: A penny saved is ridiculous.
