I seem to be having the same problem. I found a previous post ("Unable to
start/login to squirrelmail 1.2.11") that sounded similar, but since I
wasn't getting an error message in the log, I wasn't sure. At any rate, I
followed the advice and set session.auto_start to 1 (turning it on). Then,
I got the following error message when I tried to log in:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to
allocate 4097 bytes) in /usr/share/squirrelmail/functions/imap_general.php
on line 48
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to
allocate 64 bytes) in Unknown on line 0
To test things out, I went back and reset session.auto_start to 0 and
restart apache. I continued to get the error message. I haven't changed
anything else in my configuration, so I'm scratching my head as to why I'm
getting the error message now and only a blank page before.
I am running RedHat Linux 8.0, Apache 2.8.40, PHP 4.2.2, and SquirrelMail
1.2.8. Bascially, my system is up to date with the latest RPMs provided by
RedHat.
Could someone please help me get passed this and logged into SquirrelMail?
