Sir,

I think, you didn't noticed my reply. I already sent my detailed
problem (I think) but no one replied. Anyway, I will post it again.

I'm using Mandrake Linux 9.0 on my AcerPower4400 machine. I installed
the following packages from source and built it manually:

- djbdns-1.05.tar.gz
- daemontools-0.76.tar.gz
- ucspi-tcp-0.88.tar.gz
- checkpassword-0.90.tar.gz
- qmail-1.03.tar.gz
- vmailmgr-0.96.9.tar.gz
- squirrelmail-1.2.9.tar.gz

And I installed the following Mandrake's binary RPMs:

- courier-imap-1.5.3-1mdk.i586.rpm and it's related packages
- apache-1.3.26-6.1mdk.i586.rpm and it's related packages
- php-4.2.3-1mdk.i586.rpm and it's related packages

I created a system user named "bintut" who now owns the two virtual
users that I created namely "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" and "[EMAIL PROTECTED]".

Now, my webmail system is currently working fine in our local area
network. I can login using the e-mail addresses of virtual users as the
username. My problem is, how can I login to my Squirrelmail using only
the username without the domain?

I extracted the vlogin-2.5.tar.gz plugin that you sent to me at
/var/www/html/squirrelmail-1.2.9/plugins/ directory and add it in my
configuration. After that, I tried logging-in using only the username
without the domain and I got this error:

Your IMAP login was resolved to:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Any idea? What basically the most important part of the vlogin's
config.php file to edit for this kind of setup?

I apologize if this is too newbie to you. I'm not the systems
administration of this office, just a plain support guy.

I am more concerned on what will happen if we will assign 100 to 200
virtual domains in which the virtual domains will stand as the
departments and the branch offices and under those virtual domains are
the virtual users (all employees under that particular department or
branch office) but all the e-mail addresses of all the virtual users
regardless of what virtual domains they are should only have the
"@bir.gov.ph" domain.

For example:

[1] ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT
        Virtual Domain - accounting.bir.gov.ph
Virtual Users - [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Employee No. 1)
                        - [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Employee No. 2)

[2] HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT
        Virtual Domain - hrd.bir.gov.ph
Virtual Users - [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Employee No. 3)
                        - [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Employee No. 4)

[3] BRANCH OFFICE 1
        Virtual Domain - branch1.bir.gov.ph
Virtual Users - [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Employee No. 5)
                        - [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Employee No. 6)

Thanks in advance for any help.

God bless...
