Hello! In the DMZ a Squid Version 2.4.STABLE3 is running. All fine as long as I define the browsers to use this proxy.
Now if I tell the browsers to use the Squid 2.3.STABLE2 in the LAN I often get a ERROR The requested URL could not be retrieved While trying to retrieve the URL: http://gamma.meyer.home/intracal/index.php The following error was encountered: Unable to forward this request at this time. This request could not be forwarded to the origin server or to any parent caches. The most likely cause for this error is that: The cache administrator does not allow this cache to make direct connections to origin servers, and All configured parent caches are currently unreachable. Your cache administrator is [EMAIL PROTECTED] Generated Tue, 16 Sep 2003 14:10:44 GMT by proxy.meyer.home (Squid/2.3.STABLE2) On the internal Squid i defined the peer in the DMZ. cache_peer delta.meyer.home parent 3128 3130 and in the logs I find: 1063721444.907 4 192.168.1.3 TCP_MISS/503 1263 GET http://gamma.meyer.home/intracal/index.php - NONE/- - 2003/09/16 16:10:44| Failed to select source for 'http://gamma.meyer.home/intracal/index.php' 2003/09/16 16:10:44| always_direct = -1 2003/09/16 16:10:44| never_direct = 1 2003/09/16 16:10:44| timedout = 0 On the internal Squid I have a rule: acl all src 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 never_direct allow all to always use the peer. What problem do I have here? I'm on a 10Mbit-netork and everything is fine. Why is the peer not reachable? This happens only sometimes (often). -- Andreas Meyer | http://www.anup.de | http://home.wtal.de/MeineHomepage Key fingerprint = 91 F2 F8 DA 6F F0 5A FD C5 94 3A D5 1A DF AF C5
