I'm using SolrJ's CloudSolrServer <http://lucene.apache.org/solr/4_8_0/solr-solrj/org/apache/solr/client/solrj/impl/CloudSolrServer.html> that accepts the address of your zookeeper instances and does the grunt work for you.
